This is a very nice campground located on the fabulous spring-fed Nueces River in the sprawling Nueces Canyon and it offers oak tree-shaded camping, swimming, fishing and tubing opportunities. This is really a nice part of the Hill Country as is the adjacent Frio River Basin when the streams are flowing and the entire area is a fabulous destination when you are wanting to get away from the oppressively hot weather in the summer. The campground is located on Hwy 55 about 5 miles south of Camp Wood and there is a store onsite. They also have some one and two bedroom cabins and some RV sites available for your use. Non-agressive dogs are ok if kept on a leash. They can give you some information about various put in and take out points on the river if you are wanting to bring the kayaks with you to go paddling in this pretty little river valley. If you need to rent a boat, contact the folks over at
Clear Creek Outfitters.
